I had 2 days where Ryan's team went to Canada (the same place we played 2 years ago) and they wouldn't go back up to play them until the end of August when I'll already be home. So I knew I had to make the drive up. An easy 3.5 hours.
P.s. this post is FULLY picture loaded.
It was a very quick trip but so awesome. When I arrived, I met with my favorite Canadian sister, Krissy, and we headed to eat at Le Garage. They have THE BEST chicken fingers and fries I've ever had. Like ever. Its always a must to eat there when I get to Winnipeg, Canada.
And of course, we had to take a million pictures together. I love her so much.
Next stop: baseball game. It always nice to have someone there to sit and talk with. This year, there aren't any other wives/girlfriends traveling, so games can get a little lonely.
And Tim Horton's hot chocolate is a MUST in what was 55 degree weather at the time. Yes, I froze my lady parts off. And no, I did not pack enough winter clothes. The other day, Fargo WAS 50 DEGREES! Y'all, I almost died and I'm not even exaggerating...slightly.
This was the warmest thing I brought other than a hoodie. Help me. Outfit documented.
The next day, we went to Stella's Cafe for breakfast. Its a cute little place with amazing food on a corner downtown. They're iced coffees and homemade jam are superb! Plus, their centerpieces are such a cute combo of fresh flowers.
After breakfast, Ryan opted out of shopping with the girls so we dropped him off at the hotel and headed to the mall. The Canadian exchange rate is over $1 so I had to take advantage of basically 20% off anything I bought. Hello Gap and Sephora. And Timbits are essential to any mall trip.
I only got a 10-pack because I wasn't feeling too well, but I'm convinced I can eat a 50-pack by myself, no problem. After the mall, Krissy wanted to show me her boyfriend's new BBQ store (I failed to get any pictures) but it was a really cool warehouse that had every bbq, grill, sauce, outdoor set you could imagine. I'm so proud of them.
And just like that, we were off to another game. 2 days can really creep up on you when you're having so much fun. I love Winnipeg.
And after the game, Ryan and I drove back to Fargo-Moorhead, ND. It was such a good time seeing everyone and so many memories from the years before came flooding back. Not even bad weather could stop me from having a good time. And special thanks to my AMAZING friend Krissy, for spending pretty much every minute with me and always being the best older sister I never had. I love you, girl.
I plan on traveling to Saint Paul in a few weeks to see their new stadium. So beyond excited! For now, the boys are on a 12 day road trip to the south of Texas. Not sure what I'm going to do with my time. But I'll figure something out. I always do.
Thanks for reading.
