New Addition

You might think we are crazy, and yes, all of our friends have told us so. But if you look at this face, how can you say no? (totally didn't plan that rhyme by the way).

I don't know why we decided all of a sudden that we wanted a new dog or if we could even handle another, but it was love at first sight when we met, and we've got no regrets ever since. Two years ago for Valentine's Day, Ryan bought me Charlie. To this day, we still don't know exactly what type of dog he is. We say a mini lab with some terrier and dachshund mixed in. We call him Charmander and he's a human trapped in a dog's body.

Last year, Ry bought me my dream dog Baxter (I see what you are thinking, and no we do not get a dog every year...just 1 every year for 3 years). He is an underwear eating, bed hogging, play moaning labradoodle. Nevertheless, we love him. After that, we agreed that our next dog, whenever that may be, will be Ryan's dream dog: a mini dachshund or wiener dog.

If you didn't know, Ryan LOVES to research. He can spending hours learning about everything and nothing at the same time. So I was not surprised when he sent me a craigslist post with a dog on it. This has happened MANY times in our relationship, and I usually just say no or ignore it. When I saw the picture it wasn't anything like a wiener dog. I told him that if he wants this one, there is no turning back and we would not be getting another one after our third. He agreed and justified that the pup was half wiener so it was good enough. Plus, he was pretty unique looking. Anyways, one thing led to another and we both agreed that IF a perfect match, we could handle taking on another fur child. So we met the breeders and you can imagine how it went.

According to the breeders, he is a pointer/dachshund mix. Don't ask me how that happened, but it did, and he is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. We met the owners at the park and we just about fell over. He was so playful and sweet. He was only 8 weeks at the time but incredibly coordinated for such a young pup. We were sold.

I think that Homer loves his new home. Baxter is his new best friend and protector, and Homer is one of the smartest dogs I've ever met. Ten weeks young, he loves to scavenge for shoes, sleep on your neck, and poop in a circle. Literally, he poops while spinning. It's hilarious and we love him.
